Volunteer Job Description


Position Title: Food Ministry Volunteer
Program: Catholic Charities of Central Florida


Agape Mission Market Responsibilities for Volunteers:
• Sign in on arrival and sign out before leaving.
• Report to the volunteer lead or Pantry Manager for instructions.
• Sort, pack, and distribute food.
• To be able to lift more than 30 or 40 pounds.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving
your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Monitor food condition, expiration date, and packaging.
• Move equipment, supplies, or food to required places if necessary.
• To be able to work alone or with others and be engaged in other activities.
• Follow food pantry procedures.
• See something, say something! Report any unsafe activities or accidents to the Food Pantry
Manager immediately.

Qualifications:
• Ability to work in different environments (indoors, outdoors, refrigerated areas).
• Be part of the team and be patient with others.
• Ability to interact with clients and staff in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under
pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with high professionalism.
• 12 years old and older. Please note that volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied
by a parent, guardian, or school chaperone to volunteer with us.

Training: Volunteers must attend a brief orientation at the Catholic Charities office or by teams and meet and
talk with the program manager before starting.

Scheduling:

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00am-11:30am and 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm.                                  Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.  Volunteers needs to inform or cancel opportunities if you can’t attend.
