Position Title: Mission Engagement Assistant Volunteer

Responsibilities for Volunteer

·    Strong phone skills.

·    Answer the phone or provide volunteer information.

·    Communicating with volunteers. This information can be exchanged by telephone or e-mail.

·    Answer, deliver, and explain information about opportunities.

·    Getting Information from volunteers.

·    Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions appropriately, and do not interrupt at inappropriate times.

·    Maintain records of phone calls. Entering or maintaining information in written or electronic form

·    Analyzing information to choose the best volunteer opportunity.

·    Using computers or devices to enter data or process information.

·    Assist the Manager of Mission Engagement during events.

·    Experience with computer literacy, printing, and using Microsoft Word and Excel.

·    Ability to work with diverse groups of people in an atmosphere of collaboration and service.

·    Ability to communicate respectfully with employees, clients, volunteers, and community members.

·    Must be self-motivated to do tasks as needed.

·     Bilingual is a plus (Spanish).

 

Qualifications:

·     Must be 21or older.

·     Pass the Diocese Fingerprint Clearance.

.     Availability for at least 2 days or 6 hours a week.

 

Training: 

 ·    Attend an orientation.

 .    Training at the Catholic Charities of Central Florida volunteer office.

 ·    Complete a Safety Environment Course.

 .     

 

Scheduling:

 ·    There is a flexible schedule Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Volunteers should inform the Manager of Mission Engagement about their schedule and when to stop volunteering.
